Turkemoo’s thundering doom build

Following in the footsteps of Turkelife here is the 3.0.2 build i’m going to use for Turkemoo.  For enhancement shaman the build decisions seem to be a lot less agonising than for my priest.  Turkemoo is level 68 so doesn’t have all the skills yet.

I’ve included the print out descriptions of the talents from WoWHead and the level progression for making the build from scratch.

Level 80 Shaman (14/57/0)

Enhancement (57 points)

Ancestral Knowledge 5/5 (Levels 10,11,12,13,14)
Increases your intellect by 10%.

Thundering Strikes 5/5 (15,16,17,18,19)
Improves your chance to get a critical strike with all spells and attacks by 5%.

Shamanistic Focus 1/1 (20)
Reduces the mana cost of your Shock spells by 45%.

This is now passive instead of on critical.

Improved Ghost Wolf 2/2 (21,22)
Reduces the cast time of your Ghost Wolf spell by 2 sec.

When leveling I never used to take this, then i had some spare points and thought why not?  OMG i’m never going back!  I use this all the time!  Being a herbalist I use it far more than my elite mount.

Elemental Weapons 3/3 (23,24,25)
Increases the damage caused by your Windfury Weapon effect by 40% increases the spell damage on your Flametongue Weapon by 30% and increases the bonus healing on your Earthliving Weapon by 30%.

Flurry 5/5 (26,27,28,29,30)
Increases your attack speed by 30% for your next 3 swings after dealing a critical strike.

Spirit Weapons 1/1 (31)
Gives a chance to parry enemy melee attacks and reduces the threat generated by your melee attacks by 30%.

Mental Dexterity 3/3 (32,33,34)
Increases your Attack Power by 100% of your Intellect.

Weapon Mastery 3/3 (35,36,37)
Increases the damage you deal with all weapons by 10%.

Unleashed Rage 5/5 (38,39,52,53,54)
Causes your critical hits with melee attacks to increase all party and raid members’ attack power by 10% if within 45 yards of the Shaman. Lasts 10 sec.

Dual Wield 1/1 (40)
Allows one-hand and off-hand weapons to be equipped in the off-hand.

Stormstrike 1/1 (41)
Instantly attack with both weapons. In addition, the next 2 sources of Nature damage dealt to the target from the Shaman are increased by 20%. Lasts 12 sec.

Dual Wield Specialization 3/3 (42,43,44)
Increases your chance to hit while dual wielding by an additional 6%.

Lava Lash 1/1 (45)
You charge your off-hand weapon with lava, instantly dealing 100% off-hand Weapon damage. Damage is increased by 25% if your off-hand weapon is enchanted with Flametongue.

I’m not that convinced about the usefulness of another skill to insert into the rotation, but i’ll give it a run and see how it fits.  Enhancement shaman already greedily use every global cool down (GCD) they can get their hands on...

Improved Stormstrike 2/2 (46,47)
Increases the amount of Stormstrike charges by 2, and reduces the cooldown by 2 sec.

Mental Quickness 3/3 (48,49,51)
Reduces the mana cost of your instant cast Shaman spells by 6% and increases your spell power by an amount equal to 30% of your attack power.

The second part of this skill is still awesome.

Shamanistic Rage 1/1 (50)
Reduces all damage taken by 30% and gives your successful melee attacks a chance to regenerate mana equal to 30% of your attack power. Lasts 15 sec.

Maelstrom Weapon 5/5 (55,56,57,58,59)
When you deal damage with a melee weapon, you have a 100% chance to reduce the cast time of your next Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Lava Burst, Lesser Healing Wave, Chain Heal or Healing Wave spell by 20%. Stacks up to 5 times. Lasts 30 sec.

Feral Spirit 1/1 (60)
Summons two Spirit Wolves under the command of the Shaman, lasting 45 sec.

I have no idea how useful this is going to be but who wouldn’t want a couple of wolves to fight by your side?

Anticipation 3/3 (69,70,71)
Increases your chance to dodge by an additional 3%, and reduces the duration of all Disarm effects used against you by 50%. This does not stack with other Disarm duration reducing effects.

Enhancing Totems 3/3 (72,73,74)
Increases the effect of your Strength of Earth and Flametongue Totems by 15%.

Elemental (14 points)

Concussion 5/5 (61,62,63,64,65)
Increases the damage done by your Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Thunderstorm, Lava Burst and Shock spells by 5%.

Elemental Devastation 3/3 (66,67,68)
Your offensive spell crits will increase your chance to get a critical strike with melee attacks by 9% for 10 sec.

I’m level 68 already.  If your lower level it might be worth seriously considering putting the 8 points in Elemental to get this earlier.  This is a very nice talent.  Enhancement shaman have so many nice talents to get i’d be hard pressed to decide what to drop though.

Elemental Focus 1/1 (77)
After landing a critical strike with a Fire, Frost, or Nature damage spell, you enter a Clearcasting state. The Clearcasting state reduces the mana cost of your next 2 damage or healing spells by 40%.

For enhancement shaman choosing this and Convection below are really just a place to drop spare points.  Mana is rarely an issue in instances and pretty much never soloing once you get Water Shield.

Convection 5/5 (75,76,78,79,80)
Reduces the mana cost of your Shock, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, and Lava Burst spells by 10%.

This build was much easier to decide on with the removal of ‘must have’ talents from Restoration to increase hit (removed) and increase totem radius (now standard).  I hope this is useful.  I’m sure there will be a few posts on the new toys like Lava Lash and Maelstrom Weapon in the near future.
